Manifest for Campfire · built on SCG Lightning
The commerce operations layer for brands running Campfire and Shopify
Campfire is a genuinely good ledger with no commerce domain: no items, no inventory, no purchase orders. Shopify runs the operation. Manifest makes them one system — orders, refunds, settlement, purchasing, landed cost and inventory valuation, posted to Campfire as accounting truth.
What it does
One product instead of a stack
No separate inventory vendor, no middleware project, no bespoke build per client.
01
Orders and refunds
Sales and returns posted to Campfire on the right date, to the right entity, with refunds handled correctly across period boundaries.
02
Settlement decomposition
Payouts broken into gross sales, fees, refunds, chargebacks and adjustments, so the deposit reconciles to the bank without a plug.
03
Purchasing
Supplier orders and receipts, so what you ordered, what arrived and what you were billed are the same conversation.
04
Landed cost
Freight and duty landed on units, because margin reporting without landed cost is a guess with decimal places.
05
Inventory valuation
Movement history and a defensible cost basis producing real COGS. This is the Plus tier; Base posts revenue without COGS.
06
Period control
Immutable movement history and period-end lock, so the subledger still says the same thing when an auditor reads it next year.
The thing to know early
The inventory subledger an auditor will test lives in Manifest, not in Campfire
Campfire holds the control account. It has no item-level subledger, and that is a real consequence of how it is built. Immutable movement history, defensible valuation reporting and period-end lock are release gates for Manifest rather than backlog items, because this is the record someone will audit.
Boundaries
What Manifest is not
Stated up front, because these are decisions rather than gaps we have not got to yet.
01
Not an order management system
No order routing, no allocation across locations, no buy-online-pick-up-in-store, no store operations. That is a different category of product.
02
Not an ERP
No manufacturing, BOMs, production orders or work in progress. That is the graduation line to NetSuite, which we also implement.
03
Not a tax filing engine
Manifest produces the liability accurately. Avalara or Numeral files it.
04
Not for NetSuite accounts
NetSuite already has items, orders, receiving, landed cost and valuation. The value proposition does not apply.
Tiers
Base and Plus
Base
Fits when
You need commerce activity in the ledger accurately: orders, refunds and settlement decomposition.
Watch for
It posts revenue without COGS. Inventory valuation is the Plus tier, and most brands that hold stock need it.
Plus
Fits when
You hold inventory and need real COGS, purchasing and landed cost.
Watch for
This is the tier that replaces a separate inventory vendor, and it is the one we recommend for any brand holding stock.
Both are monthly with a fixed implementation fee, quoted after scoping. Book a scoping call →
FAQ
Questions about Manifest
What is Manifest for Campfire?
The commerce operations layer for brands running Campfire and Shopify. It supplies the commerce domain Campfire’s ledger does not have: orders, refunds, settlement, purchasing, landed cost and inventory valuation, posted to Campfire as accounting truth.
Why not just use a payouts bridge?
A bridge solves the bank reconciliation. It has no inventory, no purchasing and no landed cost, so it cannot tell you margin by product. That is the line between our Base and Plus tiers, and it is the reason most brands end up on Plus.
Where does the inventory subledger live?
In Manifest. Campfire holds the control account only, because it has no item-level subledger. We raise that early rather than leaving a customer’s auditor to discover it.
What does it cost?
Base and Plus are the sellable tiers, priced monthly with a fixed implementation fee. We quote after scoping, because the number depends on channels, entities and how much history comes across.
How is it delivered?
As a plugin bundle on SCG Lightning, our integration platform. Queue, idempotency, tenant isolation and credential handling are the platform’s job, which is why this is a configuration exercise rather than a bespoke build for each client.
Does it work with a NetSuite account?
No, deliberately. Manifest exists because Campfire has no commerce domain. NetSuite has one, and if you are running NetSuite the answer is a Shopify–NetSuite integration instead.
