The search for a good way to impress your customer may seem tougher when you do not have ideal strategies and resources put in place. Luckily, there is some glimmer of hope because we have a solution for you. On this page, we will vividly describe how a pick-up in-store technology, SuiteCommerce, allows you to leverage customer lifestyles.

But first, let’s define a pick-up in-store.

The Definition of a Pick-up In-store

Well, it’s pretty easy. The shoppers buy your goods online, then pick them from your store later. See what’s happening? This is a classic combination of eCommerce with the traditional come-to-the-store and buy method. Suddenly, this approach is making waves in the retail industry.

A study by Kibo and Multichannel Merchant involving shopper visits to the store revealed that 90% of the surveyed merchants had orders completed online and were waiting to pick their purchase as scheduled. Also, 43% of Associates at the store found orders made in less than a minute. Therefore, it’s easy to conclude that pick up in-store works.

Suppose you are wondering whether shoppers are saving any time, then be aware they do. This is because the shopper handles the pickup and does not have to wait for their orders to reach their mail. As a result, there are no issues of lost packages, delays, or damaged deliveries. Besides, the efficiency increases with the pick-up in-store solution because the shopper schedules the time to pick their item.

But does it also save money? Absolutely yes! The customer avoids any shipping fees involved in waiting for a delivery to reach them.

By now, you are probably wondering how this approach fits into the lifestyle of a shopper. Well, for a start, it is an efficient option for the shopper. Secondly, the customer has control over when they should get their product.

How To Make It Possible for Your SuiteCommerce website?

Usually, the website collaborates with Order Management to end up with the Pick Up In-Store functionality. So here’s how to tweak NetSuite to install Order Management:

  1. Align your retail location for Pick up in-store function to work
  2. Set the pickup hours and cutoff time within which shoppers get to pick their shopping on that day
  3. In the memo field on the Product Details page, add accurate information about the retail store location.
  4. Tweak the customized sales order form to a Pick up In-Store form
  5. Turn on the Store Locator feature for the customer to see your nearby retail locations.
  6. Indicate on inventory items to demonstrate whether they are eligible for pick up
  7. Have a stock buffer showing items available in stock at a specific retail location
