Shopify is first and foremost a tool for running an e-commerce store:
While your Shopify or Shopify Plus web store is capable of display of very in-depth product descriptions, product detail page-related content and a well-styled store blog, Shopify’s content management capabilities do not compare to many of the enterprise-level, more robust and feature-full content management systems (CMSs) such as Drupal or WordPress.
For our clients whom have content and content creation and distribution as their primary concern and eCommerce is secondary to that primary objective, we suggest an architecture utilizing Shopify’s Javascript Buy SDK to integrate Shopify e-commerce into our Client’s site.
Clients are afforded Shopify’s powerful cart system with the CMS system of their choice.
For our Clients whom have eCommerce as their main focus, their content will need to be served by a customized theme, complete with content sections and blocks, and leveraging Shopify’s existing native blogging platform. Used for content such as press pages, “lookbooks” and product data sheets.
